Villa Russiz was founded in 1868 in Capriva del Friuli by Count Theodor de La Tour and Elvine Ritter de Zahony. Today it is both a winery and a philanthropic foundation, recognized as one of the historic names of Collio. The estate extends over 45 hectares of vineyards planted between 100 and 350 meters altitude on the region’s classic ponca soils of marl and sandstone. Annual production is about 200,000 bottles. The flagship “De La Tour” line, dedicated to single varieties and single vineyards, represents the pinnacle of the estate’s production, with long-lived wines of structure, complexity, and elegance.
