Santa Barbara – Stefano Antonucci
Founded in 1994 by Stefano Antonucci in Barbara, in the Marche hills near Ancona, Santa Barbara is a family-run estate known for its innovative spirit and focus on quality over volume. Stefano left banking to bring local grapes such as Verdicchio, Montepulciano, and Lacrima onto the international stage, while also experimenting with Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot. Vineyards benefit from clay-limestone soils and the Adriatic influence. Production of the top wines is deliberately limited, often only a few thousand bottles, ensuring close attention to detail and a style that is modern yet faithful to Marche identity.
